Presentación Quaterly Accounts by Institutional Sectors (CSIT). Base year 2018

The Quarterly Accounts by Institutional Sectors record, in the short term, the evolution of economic transactions associated with the production, distribution and use of income, as well as the accumulation and financing of assets, both by institutional sector and by the total national economy, and their interaction with the rest of the world, respectively, grouped in current accounts, accumulation accounts and balance sheets. In addition, intersectoral relationships that, as a whole, offer a relevant official statistical tool for macro and microeconomic analysis, policy formulation and decision making, since they are aligned with international standards in response to global changes in the economic and financial scopes.

The National Institute of Statistics and Geography (INEGI), in compliance with recommendation II.8 Sectoral Accounts, corresponding to the second phase of the Data Gaps Initiative (DGI) of the G-20, published, for the first time, the results of the Quarterly Accounts by Institutional Sectors (CSIT) on September 2nd, 2020, period 2008q1-2020q1.

Sais accounts make it possible to record economic transactions carried out by institutional sectors, in the short term, in terms of production of goods and services, distribution and use of income, accumulation and financing. Said accounting scheme is useful for economic analysis and for economic policy makers.

Target population


The preparation of the Quarterly Accounts by Institutional Sectors is carried out based on the methodological criteria of the base year 2018 of the System of National Accounts of Mexico (SCNM, as well as the System of National Accounts 2008, prepared by: the United Nations ( UN), the  European Communities Commission (EUROSTAT), the International Monetary Fund (IMF), the Organization for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD) and the World Bank (WB).


Thematic Coverage


The results of the Quarterly Accounts by Institutional Sectors are aligned with the annual figures of the Accounts by Institutional Sectors, in order to guarantee the comparison of results.

The output tables of the publication will be made up of the series by institutional sector that include the institutional accounts of the economy, by sector; current and accumulation accounts; assets account; closing balance; detailed flow of funds; residual maturity; database scheme and G-20 standard, at current prices in millions of pesos, respectively.
