Presentación National Survey on Availability and Use of Information Technologies in Households (ENDUTIH) 2006

#The 2006 National Survey on Availability and Use of Information Technologies in Households (ENDUTIH) was conducted from April to June. 2006 ENDUTIH aimed to generate statistical information that allowed to know the availability and use of information technologies in households, considering the members aged 6 years and over.

The importance that the management of information has achieved in decision-making in all areas of the nations' lives is undoubtedly linked to the access and use of Information and Communication Technologies (ICT), the computer and internet being the main protagonists of growing technology acceptance. Today's economy requires increasing skills in handling these technological tools, while at home, the computer and the internet are increasingly becoming part of their standard equipment along with the phone and television.

In recent years, the population of Mexico has experienced an increase in the use and incorporation of these technologies in their activities. To quantify this phenomenon, the National Institute of Statistics and Geography (INEGI) conducts the survey of the National Survey on Availability and Use of Information Technologies in Households (ENDUTIH) 2006, which provides relevant information regarding the use of ICT in households and by individuals.

To generate statistical information to find out the availability and usage of ICT's in households and by individuals aged six years and over in Mexico.
